1. Textual analysis of women super heroes: Wonder Woman, Electra, Elastigirl and Violet from the Incredibles; Storm from X Men, Silk Spectre. Explore whether or not even as a super hero their powers are gendered.
2. Screenings and focus group discussion about some extracts, focusing on whether the audience is aware of any of the ways in which even super heroes (or heroines) are in fact perpetuating gender stereotypes.

The Watchmen, Elektra, Tomb Raider, The Incredibles.
Male gaze excludes women from protagonist position - but there are exceptions - Alien, Lara Croft.
What about the ultimate protagonist/hero position of the SUPER hero?
Explore how superhero women are different from superhero men. Ever on their own? (Wonder Woman 2011 imdb) What powers (becoming invisible! strretching! creating a sheild! - all from the Incredibles and very female, stereotyped superpowers). Are they objectified? etc etc.
